During the visit

  1. 1

    Take inventory

We go through the house and identify the major technology: internet and Wi-Fi, TVs and audio, cameras and security, smart-home devices, computers and printers, and who installed or services each.

  2. 2

    Sort out what matters

What works, what doesn't, and what's still unknown. We explain the equipment the previous owners left behind, then separate what needs attention now from what can wait.

  3. 3

    Write it down

After the visit you receive your Household Technology Summary, written for your home and in plain language.

If something small is obviously wrong and there's time, we'll fix it on the spot. The visit is for understanding the house. Repairs and setup are scheduled afterward.

What you receive

Your Household Technology Summary

A concise written record of the technology in your home. It's useful on its own, and it becomes the starting point for any work you'd like done afterward.

It covers the major systems and equipment, what's working and what isn't, anything we couldn't determine, quirks worth knowing, the companies that already service your home, and recommendations in order of priority, including anything that needs a specialist.

A home inspection covers the structure. The walkthrough covers the technology: what's there, how it's doing, and what to do about it.

Follow-up work, when you want it

Troubleshooting, setup, purchases and repairs we identify can be scheduled afterward, with the price confirmed before each appointment.

Specialists, coordinated

Some items need the internet provider, an AV dealer, the alarm company or an electrician. We'll tell you which, and we can handle the arrangements for you.
